Here’s a couple of resources for teachers and students intending to see the one-man play The Soul Miner by Ray Swann, as part of the VCAA’s VCE Unit 3 Drama playlist this year. The Soul Miner has had several previous performance runs and has twice been listed on a VCE playlist before. This work was on both the 2004 VCE Drama playlist and the 2007 VCE Theatre Studies playlist.
I saw The Soul Miner back in 2004 and thought it was a wonderful example of simple stagecraft, strong acting (Swann), a moving storyline and excellent use of non-naturalism. Highly recommended.
I will be starting my Masters in Teaching at Melbourne Univeristy next week and as I am from the UK I would really like to get hold of the plays that are used in the Curriculum
